Be Free Protest™ is a small, grassroots organization dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of high-control groups like Jehovah's Witnesses, advocating for victims of shunning & abuse, and empowering individuals to reclaim their freedom.

As former cult members, we endured years of indoctrination, brainwashing, propaganda, gaslighting, and psychological manipulation at the hands of high-control groups like Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Like many others, our journey to freedom began with the stark realization that “the truth” we were taught was not true at all, and in fact, was deeply harmful.

Having escaped the clutches of these cult, we knew that we could not stay silent. But speaking out is not an easy thing to do.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses Organization alone commands billions of dollars in resources, which they use to manipulate media coverage and weaponize the legal system against those who defy them. They also control the lives of our many loved ones, still trapped in their clutches.

In spite of the risk, we choose to speak out.

While we cannot outspend high-control groups like Jehovah’s Witnesses we hope to channel the voices of all those affected by their harmful practices.

Together we can raise awareness and call for lawmakers to hold them accountable for the harm they inflict.

Be Free 2023™

In early 2023, driven by a desire to speak out, our founder (who’s identity remains anonymous for fear of reprisal from these groups) began organizing the first Be Free Protest™.

With almost no resources, but a passion for civil rights and a background in activism, they secured a permit for a demonstration at the White House. They then tirelessly spread the word by working with anti-cult activists and YouTubers, and engaging cult survivors online though platforms like the ex-JW subreddit.

On October 31st, 2023, the Be Free Protest™ movement roared to life with the powerful "Be Free 2023™" demonstration. Hundreds of survivors and allies gathered in front of the White House, united against the harmful practices of shunning and child sexual abuse within the Jehovah's Witness organization.

This wasn't just a protest; it was a display of solidarity. PIMO (physically in, mentally out) members bravely participated anonymously, finding a safe space to share their stories. Be Free 2023™ offered a beacon of hope, not only for those who participated, but also for fellow survivors, and even some still trapped within high-control groups.
